The view from our campsite one morning. Strangely, the only other kayakers we met on this trip had come to the campground at the same time that we did. They were from Connecticut, ConYakkers (a local club). We chatted with them but never did any paddling with them.

Our campsite at Gros Morne. Canadians must value their camping - the showers were clean with lots of hot water, and there was a pavilion with sinks for washing dishes and potable water. It was easy camping. The boat launch for Bonne Bay was just below us.

There was a bog just down the hill with a field of carnivorous pitcher plants - the maroon flowers dotting the field.
A pitcher plant clump up close (note the pitcher leaves at the base).
A Bog Candle which is a type of orchid.
Wildflowers were abloom everywhere: bog mallows, daisies, devil's paintbrush, clover, vetch, campanula. July is about the only time these flowers have for blooming. They made quite a show.

Another orchid (the blooms fading) in the bog.
