Our second paddling day at Gros Morne was calmer. We headed for Trout River Pond to see the Tablelands up close.

It was hot and sere, and yet there were snowfields high up on the mountains. Waterfalls cascaded down here and there.
In the fold between these two mountains we heard a waterfall and stopped to investigate.

We climbed up this one until we could go no farther.

Mark cooled off in the icy water. Even though he was wearing a wetsuit he wouldn't dip in any deeper than this!

Mark paddles past the barren Tablelands.

The opposite side from the Tablelands was entirely different - great grey cliffs.
