Early morning, flat calm.
This was my favorite island, Hell's Half Acre, apparently so named because it lies next to Devil Island. The vistas are gorgeous in all directions, there's a wide shell beach, the water is clear and calm, and it feels isolated from the rest of the world. I watched a weasel swim across to a rock outcrop and then back again.
Very typical granite outcrop. Most of this is underwater at high tide.
Autumn asters growing in an uprooted tree on Gooseberry Island.
